望郷の森キャンプ場から続くでも離合が辛い狭路の舗装林道を登ると、笠置山山頂駐車場に着。ここから物見岩まですぐ。笠置山の頂上付近に飛び出すようにある柵なし巨岩の展望地で、眼下に恵那市街が、そして中央アルプスなど浮遊感ある絶景を望めます。狭路走行困難な場合は、狭路手前にある大岩展望台からも好眺望を楽しむことができます。
